Cocktail o'clock.

If you don't already know, I LOVE cocktails!!

I wouldn't say I am a very experimental person when it comes to food, when I go out for dinner I tend to stick to what I know I like. HOWEVER, when it comes to cocktails, I'm up for whatever sounds good. I am a fruity flavoured lover, my favourites belong to the berries, passion-fruits and the combination of the tropics. Readers, I will tell you all the reasons why I love cocktails and some negatives as well, because they are not all fun and games. Firstly, who doesn't love a good Instagram post of a good looking cocktail? I sure do. They are usually presented so beautifully, with a form of fancy decoration. The look and presentation of anything can make you want it, let alone taste good. Cocktails are a good social event, going out for cocktails with the girls, boyfriend, family or friends. 'We can go for cocktails' is usually one of the first things I suggest when being asked to go for a drink, yet I do love a good glass of rose or cider at the pub - cant go wrong. Going out for cocktails, is also an excuse to get dressed up, because usually you attend a fancy bar/restaurant. Any excuse to put some heels on, a nice outfit and get dolled up I am there. One of the main reasons I adore cocktails is the flavour, all the cocktails I have got have been amazing. Except from this one time, me and my boyfriend went into a bar in Selfridges and I ordered a gin pomegranate cocktail and it was incredibly strong to the point I couldn't drink it. The waitress was lovely and offered a replacement, which made my day as I felt so bad. All of this may sound amazing, yet the pricing says different. Cocktail's are expensive, no question about it, prices vary depend on where you go. In London they tend to range between £9 and £13, around where I live you can buy some cheaper for around £6.50 - which is still a lot. I can buy a cheap bottle of Blossom Hill Rose for £5, and be just as merry. Yet again, it is all about the taste for me and I would pay the price for one, even if it is only 1 or 2. Below are some of my favourite cocktail's, I will give you the recipe's and where I went to drink the delight's:

Pink is the Question, I may of mentioned this in my previous post, but here it is again! One of my favs!!! I sipped on this beauty at the Sky Garden in the city of London, what a treat I had been given. It contained the ingredients of Ciroc vodka, green apple liqueur, blueberry and lime juice and candy floss extract. It was a fruity, sharp pleasant taste which I couldn't get enough of.

A luxuriate photo taken in the Tenerife, at a beach side restuarnt on a date night with my gorgeous boyfriend. Sun was setting and the drinks came in, couldn't of been happier. This cocktail was a frozen Mango Daiquiri, the positive opinion of frozen cocktails is not high, however I am a big fan. A cold frozen drink couldn't of gone down any better in the sun, let alone with a fruity taste of alcohol. The restaurant was called Meat Flavour Farmer, I highly recommend if anyone goes to Playa de las Américas. The ingredients contain, rum, frozen cubed mango, lime juice, triple sec, sugar and the vital ingredient ice cubes. Couldn't of asked for anything more refreshing, on a beautiful sunny evening.

Now we are onto my favourite cocktail of all time, a Porn Star Martini!! The reason for my love of this cocktail is the main ingredient of passion fruit, one of my favourite fruity flavours. If I see this drink on any menu, that will be my first choice. The contents of the cocktail include, passion fruit liqueur, monin vanilla syrup, vodka, shot of prosecco and a garnish of sliced passionfruit. Now, there is always a question to be asked with a Porn Star Martini, do you drink the shot of prosecco on it's own, or pour it into the cocktail? Personally, I drink the shot separately. I find it takes the sweet edge off of the drink if you pour it in, which is what I like about a cocktail. This is definitely the most popular cocktail I am going to write about on this page, due to it's vibrant colour and beautiful taste.

Black Magic, a good name for a cocktail I must say. However, the presentation of the drink in comparison to the name was a bit of a let down. Yet, it tasted divine. I bought this cocktail in Tenerife at the Papagayo Beach Club, with a luxurious white interior and a sun set which was breathtaking - very picturesque. Black Magic contained, vodka, peach liqueur, black currant and sprite. A mixture I would never of combined, but I will definitely be making some at home now.

This photo was taken in a restaurant called Faros, located in Turkey. I love a good frozen cocktail in the sun, so a Strawberry Daiquiri is a typical must have. Such a sweet, refreshing taste that is undeniably amazing. A Strawberry Daiquiri contains, hulled strawberries, ice, rum and lime juice. I made sure I took my time to drink it, as I would of drank the whole thing in seconds it was so good.

Finally, but no means least, a Sex on the Beach. Something my boyfriend even likes, and thats saying something as he is not a cocktail fan. The smooth and fluent blend of vibrant colours is stunning. I again had this in Turkey at the Faros restaurant, as we could not get enough of it, I highly recommend if anyone ever visits Dalaman. A Sex on the Beach contains the ingredients of, vodka, peach schnapps, ice, lemon, cranberry and orange juice. The waiter even treated us to a sparkler in our cocktails, which was exciting as he brought them out.

There we go, I have shared all my favourite cocktails with you. I hope you enjoyed reading about them and I hope you give them all a try.

Lots of love Els xx
