In the fall of October, me and my boyfriend booked a cold weekend away to Amsterdam. I have to say, it was one of the best weekends me and my boyfriend have had throughout our relationship, it was amazing. We laughed so much - for reasons people may guess why... Amsterdam is definitely a bit of me, so pretty and quaint. Kyle on the other hand, he was just there for one reason and one reason only, which was to take advantage of a substance that is legalised in their country. The weather I didn't mind at all, it was nice going on a holiday and not having to make sure I was bikini ready, I wrapped up scarfs, oversized t-shirts and cosy coats. I would say we ticked off everything we had wanted to do/see, the only things we didn't do was the Heineken Experience as we both wasn't too fussed and we are not the biggest fans of beer, a canal cruise as we had just completely forgot and some of the museums. I hope you enjoy going through the photos of our get away, I will tell you bit about each one.

Lets start off with a typical Amsterdam post, it just has to be done.

Above is the Hotel we stayed at, NH Amsterdam Zuid. It is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in, with a luxurious modern interior and it's spacious bedrooms and bathroom. The queen size bed was to die for, the duvet, mattress and pillows were all soft, comfy and the two nights we slept were blissful. We stayed about a 10 minute tram ride into Central Amsterdam, which wasn't too bad at all. As the hotel was in Zuid, it was a 5 minute bus journey to the train station. On the first night we did get lost, it took us 4 hours to get back to our hotel! It was raining, cold and confusing, but that was all down to our poor map reading skills and being under the influence. However me and Kyle made it funny, so it wasn't too bad, if we didn't, it would of been one of the worst days of my life. Back on topic of the hotel, I highly recommend it as it is a gorgeous hotel, friendly helpful staff, just not in the type of location I would of pictured it in though. Just a little tip as it shocked us, you have to pay a €50 deposit on arrival and you get it back at the end of your visit - which was annoying.

Sight seeing was on the agenda, of course the Sex Museum was something I wanted to go to. I judged it completely wrong, I thought it would of been more PG than it was. In hindsight, it was basically a photographic porn museum which was amusing. We visited the I Amsterdam Letters, of course me and Kyle had a photo in front of them - typical. It again is very pretty, an open park with a long pond/water feature in the middle opposite the Rijksmuseum. Kyle had pre-booked tickets for Anne Frank, which I was highly excited about. However, it wasn't my cup of tea, there was too much information for my little mind. I was mainly in ora of just being there and experiencing the atmosphere of it all, which was nice for me, so it is still worth going to.

THE RED LIGHT DISTRICT!!! Me and Kyle went there both in the day and at night, we wanted to see if the vibe changed and if it gets into business. We didn't see many women in the windows of the Red Light, which was disappointing in a way, as that is what you go to see, Kyle was definitely disappointed. It was still a nice walk down the canal and we stopped into a few coffee shops on the walk.

We tended to wonder a bit, seeing the sights and whats about. We ended up on a road which was basically Bicester and more, from shops like Moncler to Chanel. It was all very random where it was situated, on a normal street, yet quite refreshing.

Here are pictures of the two outfit's I wore whilst I was there. The first being an oversized AC DC top, paired with some nike leggings, all white nike air max 97's, a black long lined coat and a Burberry over the shoulder bag. On the second day, I wore the same coat and bag, but with a black and white flared tied sleeve jumper, black jeans and my fluffy buckled slippers.

It was an amazing weekend away for me and my other half, a trip to remember. I hope you enjoyed reading through our adventure.

Lots of love Els xx
